How do we reply when people say that God is love and could not send people to hell? Here are three proofs (along with three short videos below) of the existence of hell:
Jesus, who died and rose from the dead, ought to know whether or not there is a hell.
THE CASE FOR A HELL
JESUS SAID THERE WAS A HELL
Description: From the series “What Happens One Minute After You Die?” Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer, Senior Pastor of The Moody Church, answers the question: Is Jesus Christ the only one who has the right to speak about what will happen one minute after death? Dr. Lutzer discusses Luke 16:20-28, where Jesus tells a story about Lazarus, a poor man who went to Abraham’s bosom, and a rich man who went to Hades. In Hades, he was fully conscious; his eternal destiny was fixed; and he was in agony.
References to Hell are found in the Old Testament.

THE OLD TESTAMENT SAID THERE WAS A HELL
Description: From the series “What Happens One Minute After You Die? Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer, Senior Pastor of The Moody Church, discusses Sheol, Hades, and Hell. In the Old Testament the word “Sheol” occurs 65 times, of which 31 times it is translated “grave,” 31 times “hell,” and 3 times “the pit.” Sheol is not just the grave; there is another specific Hebrew word for that. Sheol has two compartments: Psalm 73:25 is a place of bliss, and Psalm 86:13 is the lowest hell and a place to avoid.
3. People who had near death experiences said there was a hell
Listen to the account of a doctor that had a near death experience and felt himself being drawn into Hell.
THE CASE FOR A HELL
PEOPLE WHO HAD NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES SAID THERE WAS A HELL
Description: Dr. Donald Whitaker recounts his near death experience about Hell and a transformed worldview. He was a hard core atheist, self-made man, and master of his own ship, until one day in February 1975 he was stricken with “acute hemorrhagic narcotic pancreatitis” after a party. Whitaker found himself in intensive care. One night, he slipped out of his body three times. Each time, fully aware that he was in a completely dark place, he felt himself sliding gradually down an incline. Each time, he perceived an eerie flickering below him, somewhat like the movement of shadows cast by the flames of a fire. Experiencing unimaginable terror, he knew that he was being drawn into Hell. However, all three times before he reached the “point of no return,” he felt himself being drawn back up into his body, where he would regain consciousness.
